You asked, we listened. BEAR is coming to Ashbourne in Spring 2023 and we could NOT be more excited! Our sixth store will be nestled in the stunning Derbyshire countryside, right on the edge of the Peak District - setting up shop in the iconic ex-Bennetts department store.
The site forms part of Ashbourne's 200+ strong portfolio of listed buildings, including historic almshouses, coaching inns, and decorous townhouses. Boasting beautiful high ceilings, original exposed brick, and heaps of other architectural gems, we’re pulling out all the stops to preserve the character of the space while jazzing it up with that signature BEAR twist!
We’re super proud of our Midlands heritage, with our story being rooted on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border. Continuing our journey in such an iconic location in Ashbourne feels like the perfect way to pay homage to both the space and our history across the two counties. PLUS (as a bonus for our cycling loving friends out there) we’re incredibly close to the treasured Tissington Trail - arguably the best traffic-free cycling route in the country and a green gateway to the stunning Dovedale and Pennine Bridleway! We’re essentially taking Shoreditch, giving it a pair of walking boots, and taking it for a trek in the Peak District!
Whether it’s catching up over coffee and cake, enjoying your favourite brunch, or treating to yourself to a couple of cocktails; our sixth store will bring the same speciality coffee and seasonally fresh food you know and love to the people of Ashbourne in a beautifully thought out space.
But that's not all - BEAR Ashbourne will also be getting our newly-launched evenings concept, Later at BEAR, which will bring the party every Friday and Saturday from 4 pm. The Later at BEAR menu consists of fully-stacked smash burgers, taco trays, loaded fries, twisted cocktail classics, and loads of other delicious treats!
