The pick for brunch in Derby is our Baked Eggs. It’s based on a North African dish (Shakshuka), made up of a spicy tomato & red pepper ragu, then topped with baked eggs, crumbled feta and a drizzle of tahini. We also offer an ‘add chorizo’ option which you’d be a fool to pass on. It’s a BEAR staff favourite, and once you try it, it’ll be yours too.
Lunchtime in Uttoxeter isn’t complete without our range of stacked bagels. Keep it classic with a New York Deli (pastrami, Emmental, gherkins & mustard mayo – yuuuuum), or go rogue with bacon, peanut butter, banana & maple syrup. We call that one the ‘Elvis’. Uh-huh-huh.
When in Derby, a funky addition to your lunchtime is our take on Labneh. Forget the hummus and pitta hype, this incredible dip has the perfect balance of smooth yoghurt and chilli zhoug warmth. Scoop up a generous helping with some warm flatbread and never look back.
The top of the crop for our evening menu is a hard one to pick. Our hand-stretched pizzas and expertly-arranged share boards definitely tick the boxes, but it’s ultimately our range of “small plates” that really deserves your attention. We’re all about socialising, and our small plates menu has been designed to reflect that. In Uttoxeter you can get your hands on some homemade falafel, sweet potato & kale tacos and charred chorizo amongst other deliciousness. Over in Derby you’ll be graced with the choice of Korean wings, pork belly bao, nachos and so much moooooore! Whether you’re in Derby Monday – Saturday, or Uttoxeter Friday – Saturday, each store has its own unique selection to try. Grab some pals and choose a few that tickle your fancy. The more the merrier!
